Cervinia is the ideal location for all winter sports enthusiasts who can take here full advantage of a season extending from November to May. The unique conditions created by the altitude (2000 m at road level), allow the skiers to reach the parking lot area wearing their skies well up to the spring season.
Zermatt
One of the most rewarding day expeditions you can embark into is the ski-trip to Zermatt. When you cross the border to Swisserland, you can ski to the Gornergrat Obserbatory (3100 m). From there you can enjoy the outstanding view of the Monte Rosa’s-Gorner glaciers.
You can reach the gondola to the Rothorn (3100 m) and ski from there to the streets of Zermatt (1620 m). There you board the gondola to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (3800) and go for a long ride down the slopes of the famous Ventina track, back to Cervinia.
Alternatively, you can reach the streets of Zermat for a day of shopping and tasting of the swiss cusine. You can check-in to a swiss hotel and go back to Cervinia the next day.
CERVINIA D’INVERNO
Cervinia è la località ideale per chi ama gli sport invernali, che qui possono essere praticati da novembre a maggio. L’altitudine a cui si trova (2000 msl) permette di rientrare in paese, dopo una giornata intensa sulle piste, con gli sci ai piedi anche a primavera.
Zermatt
Una delle escursioni sciistiche in giornata più piacevoli e stimolanti in assoluto è la gita sugli sci fino a Zermatt. Sconfinando in Svizzera, in giornata è possibile sciare fino al Gornergrat (3100 slm), contemplare il panorama grandioso del ghiacciaio del Monte Rosa; raggiungere in funivia la vetta del Rothorn (3100 slm) da cui sciare fino all’abitato di Zermat (1620 msl). Da qui si può imbarcarsi sull’ovovia che porta alla funivia del Piccolo Cervino (3800 metri) e quindi compiere una lunga discesa di nuovo giù, fino all’abitato di Cervinia.
Oppure, è possibile raggiungere sugli sci l’abitato di Zermat, per una giornata di shopping e di degustazione dei piatti tipici della cucina svizzera, pernottare in un albergo svizzero e ritornare a Cervinia il giorno seguente.
